The Royal National Children’s SpringBoard Foundation transforms the lives of care-experienced children through access to independent and boarding school education, securing fully funded bursary places at key transition points and brokering in-year school places for local authorities. Its impact is proven: SpringBoarders from care backgrounds are four times more likely to achieve five good GCSEs, and nearly 90% progress to university. Beyond bursaries, its SpringForward programme trains mentors from the independent school sector to support care leavers through university applications, with over half progressing to higher education. The Foundation is also piloting new routes into employment and foster carer recruitment.
