Lambourne End is a 54-acre outdoor learning centre in south-west Essex, established in 2004 and known as the “54-acre classroom”. Through a mix of adventure, environmental activities, a working farm and horticulture gardens, it helps people overcome obstacles and build confidence, self-esteem and resilience. Around 18,000 people visit each year, many of them young people, and an estimated 46% face disadvantage, disability or mental health challenges. Whether scaling a 45-foot climbing wall, riding the zip line or caring for animals on the farm, young people find a safe, welcoming space that raises aspirations and inspires them to reach their potential.
